Most of Japanese cerebrate New Year’s Day with family members. Our family got together around noon on January 1, 2009.
Mother, older brother’s family, younger sister’s family and I attended this year’s party. Our father passed away 3 years ago. My youngest sister is living in Canada in this year.
We enjoyed family gathering and nice meal!

Have you heard the name of “Ebisu”? Some people might think of Japanese beer:) Beer company is using this name on their product, but Ebisu is name of the Japanese god.
Ebisu is one of the Seven gods of good fortune. Ebisu always carry fishing pole on the right hand and alfonsino (fish) on his left hand. He stands for success of business.
My family is running house building business.
Every year of October 20th, business owners put offerings on the alter to make a wish. This is how we did in this year.
Tokyo celebrate Ebisu-kou on October 20th, but our home town celebrate on November 20th. Depend on the home town tradition, people celebrate either October or November. My home town locate Kanagawa prefecture which is next to Tokyo prefecture.
As you know Japanese economy is not good, so we wish to have constant business to Ebisu.

Can you count number by Japanese??
English: One, Two, Three, Four, Five….
Japanese: Ichi, Ni, San, Yon, Go…..
Japanese have celebration when kids turn to 3, 5 and 7 years old. Parents wish good health and happiness of their kids. Kinds dress up like old age wearing kimono and visit shrine to pray.
My niece had three years old ceremony in this year.
Look how cute they are!

Churchill Club Event on August 11, 2008
“Start-up or Hunker Down? What’s Happening with Tech Start-ups”
Moderator was Guy Kawasaki, so I registered this meeting. He is very good to gathering up the session. I always like to listen his talk or panel.
5 new companies attended and tell us how they are doing.
Interesting product was Plastic Logic. It seems like plastic e-paper and screen. They are going to release first product next year, so that would be very interesting to see it.

Keynote has been started. I can listen Steve’s voice through several live site. I’m checking TWiT Live right now, but it doesn’t work well. I went Ustream.TV to listen clear audio. It’s amazing how many people are on-line right now.
Reliable sound comes from http://www.ustream.tv/
Reporter in ustream.tv introduce us which site has latest photo from stage. Everybody stay on-line and followed keynote from there. It’s nice to see Keynote in my eye at convention center. But this on-line live allow me to experience same time frame without standing in the line early in the morning. Smooth streaming live is great:)

I heard this word from Urban word dictionary today. It has been half years in 2008. That means I only have 4 months to stay in U.S. under current position. Every day is important for me.
My “June Year’s Resolution” would be find next work place. I’ll focus for that after Flute performance on June 11th.
